Southern Medical Program (SMP) students based at UBC Okanagan are assisting front-line physicians in the battle against COVID-19 in the BC Interior.
Director, Faculty Development
Dr. Cara Wall has been appointed the new Director, Faculty Development for the Southern Medical Program (SMP). Dr. Wall is a hospitalist based at Kelowna General Hospital and Clinical Instructor with the UBC Department of Family Practice.
Year 4 Electives Lead
Dr. Arthur Skotnicki has been appointed the Year 4 Electives Lead for the Southern Medical Program (SMP). Dr. Skotnicki is a general internist at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) and Clinical Instructor with the UBC Department of Medicine’s Division of Community Internal Medicine.

Student Golf Tournament Swings Big for Rural Health
Nearly 100 golfers and guests participated in the eighth annual Southern Medical Program (SMP) Student Golf Tournament in support of rural health. In partnership with the event’s title sponsor Scotiabank, the students raised over $20,000 for Hope Air to help patients.
